Bonnie and Clyde are probably the most popular and infamous crime duo who traveled all across the United States, committing murder, petty theft and robbery during the early 1930s.
Bonnie and Clyde are actually Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow in real life. Bonnie Parker was formerly married to a guy named Roy Thornton, a high school sweetheart who had his own brushes with the law. She met Clyde Chestnut Barrow through a common friend’s house and according to historians, fell in love at first sight.

Crime And Punishment
Clyde already had a long history of petty crimes under his name even before the pair met. But together, they went on a robbery and killing spree from 1932 to 1934, all throughout the United States taking with them a few new accomplices as they went from state to state.
Over the years, they have killed 9 police officers and committed hundreds of petty theft and robberies all throughout the country. The couple was also known to carry around high caliber ammunitions – from automatic rifles, semi-automatic shotguns, handguns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
In May 23, 1934, the infamous duo was finally killed on an ambush along a rural road in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. The couple was on a car when they were met by six law enforcers from Texas and Louisiana. All six officers open fired on the vehicle in an incredible barrage of bullets that left them nowhere to go. Both Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow were instantly killed on the spot.
Although they were finally caught and killed in 1934, the pair cemented their names in American pop folklore with Arthur Penn’s legendary film entitled "Bonnie and Clyde". Their stories and tales of crime have become subject to numerous films and remakes throughout the years.

Their crime spree caught the attention nationwide and they reached the celebrity status. There have been several films depict the story of Bonnie and Clyde as well as many soundtracks. The idea of living dangerously as “Romeo and Juliet in a getaway car” is probably fascinated by many of us.
